Norfolk State’s Creative Gaming Lab Develops SOL Quiz Game

Looking for a cool way to help your students with the Standards of Learning tests? NSU’s Creative Gaming and Simulation Lab has released Kwizopia, an SOL quiz game. Kwizopia uses the Virginia Department of Education’s released SOL tests for math and science to help students practice the tests in a fun way. Kwizopia randomly chooses the questions and at the end of each quiz, a score card appears which the student can then print and either keep or share with a teacher. Students in the third through eleventh grade can play the game on their own or with a friend. The game is a product of a master’s thesis by Walaa Mahmoud, who graduated from NSU in May 2015 with a master’s degree in Electronics Engineering. It updates a previous version of the game, which the CGS Lab also developed.

Kwizopia is available for free for the iPhone and iPad on the Apple App store at
