Paula Gentius continues to be inspired by her parents. Her dad is hearing impaired but demonstrated throughout her life that no impediment should stand in your way in accomplishing your goals. As assistant to the president, she provides support services for his duties and responsibilities, planning, directing, managing and coordinating the University’s operations and advancing its mission, vision and interests. This past May, Gentius earned the Ph.D. in educational management (higher education track) at Hampton University. The program provides candidates with an opportunity to develop the critical leadership skills and knowledge that are required in today’s increasingly complex, diverse, and information-driven educational organizations. Dr. Gentius also provides executive support to the 13-member NSU Board of Visitors, the institution’s governing body. She decided to pursue the degree because she wanted to increase her understanding of academia and learn more about the higher education enterprise. Dr. Gentius is the proud mother of two, Sandhya, nine and Czar 14.
