Although it’s final exam time at Norfolk State, approximately 100 faculty, students and staff found time to attend a town hall meeting at the Student Center today at 10 a.m. Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Sandra J. DeLoatch, who officiated the meeting, announced to the gathering that NSU’s accrediting body, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), had lifted the probation sanction. To rousing applause, Dr. DeLoatch thanked the team that worked so diligently to ensure that all SACSCOC submissions were accurate and on-time. A brief question and answer session was also held.
Reporter Brandi Cummings with WAVY TV 10 On Your Side, a videographer from News Channel 3 and a videographer from NSU were on hand. Dr. DeLoatch and Gerald Hunter, vice president for finance and administration, were interviewed.
