Charles R. Hunt, associate professor, Department of Technology; Dr. Jeenson Sheen, associate professor and chair, Department of Technology; and Munir Sulaiman, instructor, Department of Technology made two co-presentations at the Association of Technology, Management and Applied Engineering (ATMAE) Conference in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in November. The presentations included the focus areas of Employing Hazard Recognition and Control: Effective Techniques to Reduce Accidents and Injuries and A Credible Model for Strategic and Operational Planning in a University Department of Technology. Both were well received by higher education and industry attendees alike.
In addition to making the presentations, departmental faculty also attended the ATMAE Board of Accreditation hearings. This entailed representing Norfolk State University concerning reaccreditation of Department of Technology programs; including building construction technology, computer information technology, and electronics technology. The outcome of the Board of Accreditation hearings regarding the Department of Technology was the reaccreditation of the respective programs.
