Norfolk State University officials recently announced the appointment of Jane-Ellen Miller, Senior IT Executive with CampusWorks Inc. as the university’s interim chief information officer (CIO).  In 2015, CampusWorks Inc. was contracted to conduct an assessment of NSU’s Office of Information Technology (OIT). As a result of the assessment, it was determined that OIT’s organizational structure would be best served by relocating its oversight from Academic Affairs to Finance and Administration.

Over the next several months, Miller will serve as NSU’s interim chief information officer. This arrangement will provide the benefit of an experienced information and technology expert while providing an opportunity for the university to adequately conduct a search for the next CIO. Miller has served as a senior academic resource officer and has more than 30 years of experience at Ellucian directing a team of 300 employees, 22 CIO’s and three general managers across the U.S.  Over the last 30 years, she has served in various leadership capacities at numerous institutions including Antioch University, University of Bridgeport, Virginia State University and St. Thomas University.
