During the spring semester, the Hot 91.1 FM WNSB radio student, volunteer and professional staff executed the successful inaugural on-air membership campaign MemberFest 2016. For a three-week period, the entire staff trained to prepare for the 10-day membership campaign, which was a five-day silent drive and a five-day live on the air drive. Special thanks to community, campus and corporate leaders as well as WNSB and NSU alumni who acted as guest DJ’s and shared lots of university and community news and history. Additionally, they donated an array of incentives which were given to contributors.
“Thank you to everyone who made a donation or pledge and also to everyone who gave of their time and talents toward this major fundraising effort,” said Edith Thorpe, WNSB general manager. “We are elated the station reached nearly $11,000 during its first on-air membership drive.”
WNSB plans to hold a fall and spring membership campaign annually.
