Corprew Avenue is under construction again. The city of Norfolk Department of Utilities has begun work to replace a failing sanitary sewer pipe along Corprew Avenue near Norfolk State at the intersection of Marathon Avenue. This emergency replacement project began August 1 and is expected to be completed with one to two months. Work includes the installation of new sanitary sewer pipe and the restoration of the roadway. In addition, the customer service connections along this section of Corprew Avenue will also be replaced. The city will maintain sanitary sewer and water services throughout the construction. Traffic and on-street parking on Corprew and surrounding areas will be restricted in he construction area for the duration of the project. Traffic detours have been established in the surrounding areas. Motorists are urged to pay attention and use caution when traveling in the area. City officials and the contractors promise to minimize the unavoidable disruptions associated with the construction.
