Norfolk State Celebrates Founders Day & Inaugurates Sixth President

29100214933_765d9df37b_mNorfolk State University opened its doors September 18, 1935. As part of the week recognizing its founding, the University inaugurated its sixth president, Eddie N. Moore Jr. (left), on Friday, September 16. 29703415985_b99a5ab802_mOther activities during the weeklong celebration included a Founders Day Breakfast with award-winning journalist and TV One news host Roland S. Martin (right) as the guest speaker. A ceremonial walk to the Communications Tower was held where a bell rang out six times to mark President Moore’s inauguration.

29687529056_1cff2ba592_mOn the lighter side, the NSU community took part in a green and gold fun run and walk (right) and enjoyed line dancing, food trucks, games and fireworks at the inaugural bash.
