The Muslim Students Association (MSA) and Office of Intercultural Relations (OIR) at Old Dominion University are holding a seminar titled Optimism in an Age of Islamophobia Thursday, Nov. 17, from 6-8 p.m., at the Mills Godwin Life Sciences Building (MGB) 101, on the ODU campus. This event is part of ODU International Education Week and the public is invited to attend.
The spiritual, political and social challenges we confront are not unique in world history. Examples abound of historical predecessors who have either failed or successfully overcome their struggles. Each of those stories has pivotal moments that demanded the strength, resolve and unrelenting faith from its leaders and people. Join the MSA and OIR for an insightful presentation, in which speaker Imam Khalid Latif, executive director and chaplain for the Islamic Center at New York University, makes a case for optimism and lays out the opportunities to strengthen our respective roles and civic engagement in this country.
Attendance is free but an RSVP is required due to limited seating. To secure your seat, RSVP using the following link: https://msaoptimism.evenbrite.com/ or text TXTRSVP OPTIMISM to 313131 by Tuesday, Nov. 15.
