The Norfolk State University Chapter of the National Broadcasting Society-Alpha Epsilon Roe (NBS-AERho) will sponsor a benefit gala January 20, 2017, immediately following its induction ceremony for its newest members. The National Broadcasting Society is the national electronic media association for student broadcasters and those majoring in the broadcast industry. The induction ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. and the gala will follow at 6 p.m. in the NSU Student Center, Room 138. Guest speaker for this year’s gala is Joe Cook, an NSU alumnus and past president of the NBS-AERho. Additional gala highlights include student and faculty awards, musical entertainment and student presentations that may be presented at the national convention in New York, which is scheduled for March 21–26. Tickets for the gala are $25. All proceeds benefit students attending the national convention and to assist them in the video competition. Donations will be accepted throughout the planning, execution of the event and after.
